Thought I would do a review on the Nikon 50 mm f/1.8D, have had mine since.. (had to look in my Lightroom library) January 2007. It is an extremely bright lens and used on a dx camera it will become a 75 mm lens wich is perfect for portrait and other normal shooting condition. At f/1.8 you can shoot using ambient light even if it is dark. It is not a big lens and at just 155g it is a flyweight lens. The lens comes with a rear and front cap but there is an optional lenshood, but i haven’t tried it. I think it is a very nice lens though you should now that it doesn’t autofocus with the D40, D40x or the D60. It cost 110USD at B&H photo wich translates into 700SEK but it cost 900SEK in Sweden (It is worth it..)! If you have any questions about the lens just send me an email! It is really sharp and well build!
